Ntondo is a short film that explores the intimate inner workings of survivor’s guilt, over responsibility, and the inner battle between faith and fear. Kwazi, does everything she can to save her little brother, uQhamile, from the clutches of a neighbourhood witch who wants to harvest her brother’s innocence for supernatural powers. The film seeks to capture the complicated feelings that exist between children who've suffered great loss from a young age, the trials of survival without community in harsh South African neighbourhoods and the relentless pursuit of community and grounding through religious spaces. This film is an important contribution to the greater South African conversations about belonging, access, community and faith, that leaves us with questions like, "Who will save us from each other?
