Set in the dying light of Sophiatown, My Eyes Are Brown in the Sun tells the story of Bongani Mtetwa, a young freedom fighter posing as a policeman, and Phumla Dube, a jazz singer whose music carries the soul of her people. As the apartheid government prepares to tear down the township, Bongani must decide between fleeing with the woman he loves or staying to fight for a home that has never truly held space for him.
