Act I: The documentary delves into historical perceptions of beauty through mediums like beauty pageants, renaissance art, and magazines, contrasting them with modern standards influenced by social media and dating apps. As voices assert, "Not everyone is beautiful," a fundamental question arises: What factors shape our perception of physical beauty, and why does it matter? Act II: Exploring the essence of physical beauty, psychologists and diverse individuals, including LGBTQI+ representatives and beauty influencers, offer insights. They dissect the impact of social media on beauty standards, personal experiences, and societal norms, unraveling the complexities of what is deemed beautiful in today's world. Act III: Confronting the ramifications of contemporary beauty standards, the documentary addresses the question of universal beauty, supported by psychological perspectives. It scrutinizes the influence of social media beauty standards and advocates for a healthier interpretation. Concluding with introspective reflections from participants on their own perceptions of physical beauty, the documentary encourages viewers to reconsider their understanding of beauty in an evolving cultural landscape.
