In the community of Xanthium, ruled by a tyrannical King and his men, women must do menial labor and sex work for money, food and basic resources. One of the prostitutes within this community, Akani, makes a deal whilst pregnant, with the Queen, to raise Akani’s child as royalty in place of the Queen’s child who will not survive past birth. Following the Queen’s death and the return of Omari, a rebellious woman and ally – the prostitutes plan to escape Xanthium with all the women and retrieve Akani’s daughter from the King.
