The film follows Asanda, a soccer prodigy from a poorer background. He dreams of being a professional player but due to his financial circumstances he has given up on the prospects of playing professionally. His life is plunged into a tailspin when he is offered a full sports scholarship and a chance to play for a university team in Cape Town. In order to take this chance, he would need to leave home and move away. But more than just leaving, this is a chance for him to reinvigorate his life. He ultimately decides to leave. Over the course of the story, he needs to come to terms with his decision and as well as break the news with his best friend, who is supportive, and his girlfriend, who is less so. The story deals with the idea that dreams come at great risk and sacrifice. Is Asanda selfish for chasing his aspirations or does he have a responsibility to himself and those around him to be everything he could be?
