Hugan takes us on an emotional journey of Dr. Gumede, a grief-stricken geneticist who loses his daughter in a car accident that he survives. The loss of his daughter drives him to desperation, leading him to assemble a team, including Dr. Mokoena and Andiswa, to aid in his experiment. With the goal of bringing his daughter back to life, they begin a complex splicing process that involves animal and human DNA. However, a miscalculation occurs, and when his daughter is revived, she returns as Midalti, a Hugan creature with a combination of human and animal traits. Despite recognizing the potential danger in Midalti's transformation, Dr. Gumede is blinded by his desire to fix her. As Midalti becomes increasingly drawn to the Hugan world, she undergoes a dramatic shift, exhibiting more hugan characteristics than human ones. Tragically, the situation escalates to a devastating outcome, as Midalti ends up taking the lives of Dr. Gumede and his team.
