The story begins with a 22 year old athlete, Mgijimi, an intersex that lives in the community of Ntuzuma in Johannesburg East. During his preparations for the Olympics, Mgijimi starts his period and Sive jealous of Mgimiji being Coach Themba’s favourite, takes a video of Mgijimi’s genitalia as he showers. Mgijimi heads home and receives a anonymous threat informing him to drop out of the competition his secret will be exposed. Afraid, he agrees. He comes across a tape recorder that his sister had given to him, it’s his younger self inspiring the his older self, he changes his decision regarding the competition and actually attends regardless of the threats received. As the race begins and his secret gets exposed.He motivates himself directly through the mirror, after running to the bathroom.Finally accepting himself for who he is, and putting aside the views of the community, he goes back to the track and actually wins the race.
