Ancestral Truths is an experimental documentary that reclaims the true history and knowledge behind African traditional religion, the significance of traditional African practices and the important role African Spirituality plays in forming one’s identity, following traditional healer Kwena Manyelo and religious figures Sello Ephraim Mokoena and Jeminah Mphahlele Mokoena, our documentary aims to address, highlight and interrogate the negative perceptions Western Religion has placed on society by rewriting the misconceptions towards African Spirituality and meanings behind our sacred practices.
