AFDA is proud to announce that 11 AFDA student and alumni films will be screening at this years Jozi Film Festival taking place from the 3-6 October 2019.

Alumnus Ernest Nkosi’s documentary feature film “An Ordinary People” has been selected to open the festival at the Hyde Park Nu Metro on the 3 October.

On 4 October alumnus Mathew Jankes’ award winning short film “Axis Muendi” screens at the Bioscope Cinema.

The 5 October, still at the at the Bioscope Cinema, alumnus Wynand Louw’s short film “Cowboy Dan” and alumna Kate D’Hotman’s short film “Life’s a Drag” will be screening. Alumnus Alex Fynn’s feature length documentary “Run as One” makes its way to the big screen at the Theatre in the Park, in Delta Park.

On the 6 October the day starts off at the Bioscope Cinema with the South African Student Films showcase featuring four AFDA student films: “Mej. Twisfontein”, “R.E.M.”, “Beyond Repair” and “Sunset Exodus”. Screening directly after the student showcase you can see the documentary “Billy Monk: Shot in The Dark “, directed by alumnus Craig Cameron-Mackintosh. Later on in the day the AFDA Masters (MFA) film, “Seapoint 280SL”, directed by Gail Wyness hits the screen.
